against irony

When all you have left is affected self–awareness and irony, seriousness is the worst sin. Not “authenticity” (which is affected posturing of another form, or an imaginary construct of wholeness), but actual seriousness— saying what you mean, saying it clearly and confidently. This is why I get Facebook fatigue.
